How does the orthodontic process straighten teeth?
Your teeth are suspended by membranes, which are surrounded by bones. When an orthodontist tightens your braces, the applied pressure causes some of the membranes to stretch and some to be compressed. Over time, the bone dissolves on one side and rebuilds on the other. Slowly, Mother Nature and your orthodontist help to realign the structure of your mouth, giving you a beautiful smile.
