Due to slight bleeding and/or bruising during the permanent makeup procedure and subsequent touch-up, you can expect some swelling and tenderness around the tattooed area for one to two days. This is followed by a scabbing and peeling process within the first week of recovery.
During the first two weeks of the healing process, you should avoid exposing the treated areas to sunlight, as well as swimming. These activities may leach the pigment from your makeup.
You will be instructed to keep the tattooed area clean with soap and water, leave it exposed to air when possible, and apply a mild antibiotic cream to keep the area moist until healing is complete (usually seven to 10 days).
Though rare, some clients have an adverse reaction to particular pigments used in the tattoo, resulting in swelling or itching. This should be attended to by a doctor.
