Permanent Makeup: More to Know
Cosmetic tattooing is permanent in that pigment is implanted in the skin and can not be washed off. Fading can and often does occur, however, and may require periodic maintenance. In addition, your specialist may be able to modify the color and shape of your makeup after the initial application.

There are three main methods of tattoo removal:
  • Tattooing over the original tattoo with another design.
  • Surgically removing the tattoo with dermabrasion or soaking it in a salt or acid solution.
  • Using lasers to remove the pigment.
Despite advances in tattoo removal, try to approach permanent makeup as if it was just that: permanent. If you are concerned with makeup removal from the start, this procedure may not be the right one for you.
