INTRODUCTION Many people have become more self-confident after nasal surgery. A study in the May 1999 issue of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery analyzed attitudes of 64 rhinoplasty patients (20 men, 44 women) 18 months after surgery. Ninety-one percent were satisfied and 60 percent were more self-confident. Other studies have shown rhinoplasty patients, especially women, show significant increases in extroversion (sociability) after surgery. Rhinoplasty may be right for you, too. A positive outcome is more likely when you are well informed before surgery and follow your physician's instructions carefully afterward.
Public Views Cosmetic Surgery Positively In 1999, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons asked 1,000 Americans their opinions on cosmetic surgery. Most were positive: 82% of the women and 72% of the men said if they had cosmetic surgery, they would not be embarrassed for people to know it.
